Rewiring a portable space heater?

My dogs chewed through the cord of my portable space heater. Is it possible for an electrician or appliance service place to rewire it? Any idea how much it would cost to do so (even a ballpark figure)?

I really don’t want to buy a new one if I don’t have to. It’s a Lasko product.

15 Amp portable heater blew surge protector?

　　 Yeah We Got That asked: I have a 6 outlet surge protected plugged into outlet in my garage. I just got a 15 amp portable ceramic heater. The heater will work for about 10 mins, then the surge protector goes into protection mode. What gives? I only have a little radio [...] [ ... ]
