I'm not sure it's your space heater but it could be.....I'd take the bird in for a check-up just in case and ask a professional.

It would cheaper to use a space heater to heat the room you are in than heating the home with no insulation.Just be careful with the space heater and not too close to anything.

Oil filled radiator heaters - you can even buy some that are not hot to the touch in case you have little ones around.

We saved a lot on our electric bill last winter experimenting with these - and using the heat pump for backup.

For more info, see the Top Ten Tips to Save Energy:

Hope this helps!

Hello Greg

I think a calor gas fire works great and the bottle of gas lasts ages, also once when I was on a low income I hotted bricks in the oven they were wrapped in tin foil and then put them on the fire place in the front room you,ll be suprised how warm its gets.
Hope you get it sorted love its freezing this year.
Merry Christmas Greg x

You should be able to have the cord replaced. Look in your phone book or on line for an appliance repair service near you. But it may be more expensive to have it repaired than to just buy a new heater.

I would not advise you to use a space heater in a toddler's room. Those are scary anyways, better yet using one in a toddler's room. Those have caused many house fires and deaths as well. If you have no other option but to use the space heater then make sure it is off to the side by itself and not by bedding or curtains or anything flammable.

Yes that is the way to get it fixed. Better to take it to their shop, I could only guess at a price, maybe $50. Call a few of them and ask, it is a simple job to quote on over the phone by the sound of it.
