I’ve been trying to research heaters and I’m completely baffled. I read about this Lasko portable baseboard heater at Lowe’s, which supposedly heats up to 400sf, but I find this hard to believe. It’s only 5 inches by 40 inches. The room is an add-on with tons of windows and not well insulated, so I want to be sure to get something that will be capable of getting the chill out. Our house is in Texas, where it rarely gets below freezing, but it does stay very chilly at night for a few months.

Holmes puts out many forcd fan heaters that are made of plastic and will heat a room of this size quite comfortably..do not get the oil filled radiator type ones..they eventually warma room up, but must stay on most of the time for they take hours to wam a room up..Holmes have small plastic ones that stay cool to the touch, have a forced fan on them and warms rooms up extremely quick..however, heat rises so I recomend A cheap ceiling fan on the ceiling set to reverse and on low to medium speed to circulate the air..otherwise you will stand up and the top half of the room will be 15 degrees warmer than the bottom half..I have used these holmes fans like this for years and have them still that are as old as 10 years old..radiant heaters and baseboard heaters work, but they take so long to heat a room up..my forced fan heaters are made of plastic, take about 15 minutes to heat a room up, have a thermostat on them that will cut it on and off as needed, plus have safety devices that if they are accidently knocked over by A pet or child, they cut off automatically…They cost about 30.00, look very small like they will not do the job..but they do better than any other portable heater I have ever had…
