I have a 2300 square foot home in Knightdale, NC. It comes with a heat pump heating system and a propane fireplace. Should I use the heat pump or the propane fireplace or should I use a portable kerosene space heater. What is cheaper?

Your propane fireplace is good only in one room. The portable kerosene heater can’t be used in an enclosed space unless you provide venting for the exhaust or die of carbon monoxide poisoning. Guess that leaves the heat pump. I believe it is the cheapest form of heating and cooling that is in use today.
